Ronald Ferguson Featuring The Forty-One Community ChoirThere are some CDs by choirs and ensembles that even get the attention of diehard Gospel Quartet fans. Chosen Purpose Live & More is one such CD.

The mastermind behind this CD is Ronald Ferguson. His group (the one he performs with on a regular basis) is Ronald Ferguson And Chosen. Some may remember Ronald from his days on the road as part of the band for the legendary Tommy Ellison & The Singing Stars.

Along with being an accomplished musician, Ronald is a songwriter and arranger. He “wrote and produced a song for his brother and sister, Staff Sergeants’ Roshawn and LaTanya Walker entitled “To The Troops”. [The] song took off Worldwide [and] it was posted on The Department of Homeland Securities website for Two Years and is still to this day being played at all military bases and stations all over the world.”

Ronald decided to use his exceptional musical talents to produce a project by his local community choir – The Forty-One Community Choir. The LIVE recording took place on October 16, 2011, at the Bethel United Methodist Church, St. Stephen, SC.

There are nine (9) songs on the CD, including 2 versions of the soon to be popular “There Is A Land.” “There Is A Land” is the song that will endear gospel quartet fans to this CD. In addition, it would not be a surprise to hear that choirs (and even some quartet groups) around the country are singing this song. The arrangement is just that good.

Ronald sings lead on eight (8) of the songs, including a duet with Jerome Ravenell on “There Is A Land.” Patricia Snipe Johnson sings lead on “Move Out Of God’s Way.“
The other songs on the CD are “All Of Me,” “Oh Lord We Come,” “God Can,” “Forever Yours” and “He’s Faithful.”

Ronald has masterfully weaved the gospel quartet style into the full choir sound. With this CD, the choir has establish a truly distinctive sound – some quartet, some choir, some down home flair into songs that minister to the listeners. The Forty-One Community Choir is sure to be in demand to minister to the world.

DivineFatKeyz Music Ministry is the home of Divine. Their new CD is titled I Want To Be Right.

The group has been together over 15 years. They started in California as a family group. The members relocated to Nashville. In Nashville, two (2) new members were added. The current members are Minster Priscilla Barcous, Leondra Lacey, Evangelist Marilyn Boyd, Margaret Reese, and Lacretia Crosby. These ladies are very gifted singers. Their sound is a refreshing blend of traditional and contemporary gospel music. And, further demonstrating their vocal talents, the young ladies share lead duties. In addition, they wrote six of the songs on the project.

There are 8 songs, but 10 tracks, on the CD. The song He’s Sweet is divvied into 2 parts. Part 1 is an Accepella version of the very traditional He’s Sweet I Know. There are two versions of the song “I Want To Be Right (Radio Version and Full Version).” Other songs on the CD are “Let’s Work It Out,” “If It’s Your Will,” “He Will Do,” “I Wanna Live So,” , “Sho Do Need Him Now,” and “Thank You.”

The project was produced by Evangelist Fatima Foster. Evangelist Marilyn Boyd serves as the manager for the group.

The Gospel Enforcers of New Jersey The Gospel Enforcers of New Jersey has a new CD titled Come To Jesus. The Enforcers have been around for quite sometime. Not only do they sing that ’traditional’ gospel song exceptionally well, they have masterfully blended R&B arrangements to some of their songs.

The project begins with the toe tapping “Come To Jesus.” Although it is a studio recording, you will think you’re sitting in an old-time revival. “Two Face” is the next track. The background harmony makes this one very easy on the ear. Next the guys tackle one of “grandma’s song” “Good To Be Alive.” You could envision this song being sang across the country in church serves every Sunday. The arrangement is one of the best traditional version of this song.

The hand clapping, washboard strumming “New Song” is next. Kept waiting for the lead singer to shout “Let’s Go To Work Fellows.“ The influence of the best from traditional groups of the South is all over this song. It might be a New Song, but it has all the trappings of good old gospel quartet music.

The influence of R&B is obvious on “Not My Imagination.” Several groups have ’toyed’ with trying to incorporate some of The Temptations’ Just My Imagination into a gospel song. The Enforcers version comes closest to incorporating the words and arrangement and yet delivers a gospel message.

On “Fly Away” the guys deliver an upbeat arrangement to an often recorded song. The arrangement may be a little to upbeat for most services in which this song is often heard, but it will certainly cause you to hit the repeat button. This is followed with Have “A Little Church.” Unfortunately it is the shortest song on the project. It will leave you wanting to hear the guys sing this one in concert. About one minute 48 seconds into the song, you’ll hear some familiar blues and R&B strumming. This one will probably be the favorite at concerts.

The guys go a little country on “In The Water.” They go back to the R&B influence with “We Need Him.” Seventies’ R&B fans will quickly pickup on the arrangement. They closed the project by retuning to the solid traditional gospel arrangement with “Stay There.”

Get on board quartet fans with The Enforcers. The guys deserve your attention. Listen to the entire CD during the new music broadcast at Gloryland Gospel Quartet Radio.
