The UpliftersThe Uplifters of of Passaic, New Jersey recently released new CD on the Serenity Grace Records label. The project is titled He’s Coming Back Again.

Some may remember The Uplifters from the CD Weeping. And that CD they had their house wrecking version of “Sit Down Servant.” At that time, they recorded under the name The New Uplifters.

Well, the original members are back with the group and they have reverted to the name The Uplifters. The members are Anthony Fuller, Rev. Leo Williamson, Richard Hollinshed and Jamal Dawson.

There are a few songs on the new CD from the Weeping project; songs like “Depending On You,” “He’s Coming Back Again,” and “Shower Your Blessings.” Thank You will probably be considered the drive song on the new CD. And, there are some great ballads on this CD; such as “Depending On You,” “Stop By Here,” and “Shower Your Blessings.”

The new CD should serve to solidify The Uplifters as one of the groups ready to take gospel quartet music to the next level.

Listen to the entire CD during the Quartet Mix at Gloryland Gospel Quartet Radio broadcast beginning August 24, 2010.

Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’sMCG is ready to release a new compilation CD on the Nation’s Number One Quartet Gospel Group – Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s. The new CD is titled Through The Years.

Here is how MCG describes it.

“Through the years Lee Williams & the Spiritual QCs have humbly presented thousands upon thousands of fans from coast-to-coast with a collection of unparalleled Gospel musical memories.

Now, these deeply moving memories – from electrifying performances to soul-stirring moments of hope and healing – are available in an incomparable collection of QC’s musical masterpieces, titled Through The Years.

Through The Years features thirteen selections from several Lee Williams & the Spiritual QCs projects and will be considered a “must have” CD that will minister to the hearts of loyal Lee Williams lovers for many years to come.”

The songs on the CD are “Love Will Go All The Way,” “God So Loved,” “Lord I’m Willing,” “Jesus Is Alive & Well,” “Personally,” “Jesus Is All,” “You’ve Been Good (Part I),” “Wonderful,” “I’ve Found A Friend,” “I Do,” “Be Alright,” “On My Way” and “You’ve Been Good (Part II).” As is obvious from the songs on the project, fans will be treated to songs from the group’s first CD with MCG, Jesus Is Alive and Well to some of their most recent releases.

The one song that is missing from this new compilation (that would have made it complete) is “Good Time.” However, fans of the group will undoubtedly still have a good time as they listen to the new CD.

Introducing Peace AngelRecently, we received a CD from Best Ever Music Company and Brilliant Minds Records. Having never heard of these labels, and with the names “Best Ever” and “Brilliant Minds,” it certainly got our attention.

The CD is titled Introducing Peace Angel. As we listen to the CD, it became apparent that “this is a good CD.” The artists on this project are indeed ‘singers.’ As we began to seek out information about the artists on the CD, we learned that our assessment was correct – they are indeed ‘singers.’ The CD is actually a compilation consisting of songs from Eddie Garland, Rev. Sam E. Solo, Betty Maker, and Reggie Garland.

Reading their bio we discovered, that “Peace Angel, [is] a new gospel label through Brilliant Minds Records, took a few local artists who had previously worked with Motown, added a female artist, and came up with their first product. Producers Reggie Garland and Betty Maker hope to share their love of God with others and feel they have a bright future.”

The future does look good for this new label from Flint, Michigan. Just look at the track record of the artists. “Rev. Sam E. Solo, ordained as a minister this year, released 2 hits on the Ruby Record label in the 1960s, “Love Is Not A Game” and “Tears Keep Falling”.” Eddie Garland previously recorded with “Alphonso and the Lavelles, and also the ensemble 21st Generation.

Reggie Garland is the former lead singer with groups that include The Perfections and Mixed Sugar. Betty Maker is a writer, recording artist, composer, arranger and producer.

As the bio reflected these are all seasoned singers. Those that honed their vocals in the secular field have not brought all that talent and energy to songs praising our Lord and Savior.

Eddie Garland can be heard on Jesus At Calvary, God Don’t Make Mistakes, Alwaysness and Jesus My Savior. Rev. Sam E. Solo’s contributions to the CD are the songs Through Me, A Place Called Calvary, Can’t Nobody Do Me Like Jesus, and I’ll Never Let You Down. Betty Maker sings Touch My Heart. She also shares a duet with Reggie Garland, I Praise You Lord. And, Reggie Garland closes out the CD with You Died On The Cross For Me.

Listen to the entire CD during the Quartet Mix at Gloryland Gospel Quartet Radio broadcast beginning August 24, 2010.
