Recently, we received a CD by Tra’Vanes titled Greatest Hits. From the bio accompanying the CD, Tra’Vanes is actually Evangelist Tracy Pittman of Tampa, Florida. She was a member of the family group The Harmony Winds Gospel Singers (also known as Tony Pittman and The Harmony Winds). The Harmony Winds are based out of Tampa, Florida. After leaving Harmony Winds, she started the group Evangelist Tracy Pittman and The Voices of Harmony. Now, she is pursuing a solo career.
The Greatest Hits’ CD contains five (5) songs, Words of Encouragement and Confessions. The songs are “Put Your Trust (In Jesus),” “It’s Me,” “Call Jesus,” “It’s Gonna Be Alright,” and “Tribute To Tampa.”
The Greatest Hits’ CD was actually released in 2007. For most gospel music listeners, they probably have not heard the songs on the CD. And, Radio Angels across the country would surely like the songs “Call Jesus” and “Put Your Trust (In Jesus).”
Listen to songs from Tra’Vanes during the Quartet Mix at Gloryland Gospel Quartet Radio broadcast. Tribute To Tampa can also be heard as opening song at Florida Gospel Quartets‘ website.

In 2003 The Shepherds released the CD Trilogy. In 2007 they released the CD Tribute. Both CDs were on the Amen Record Label and were received well by gospel music fans.
The group’s new CD, titled New Beginnings, is on Strawberry Vinyl Records Label. The title reflects that fact that there are new personnel in the group. Musician Lonnie Clark was formerly with The Flint Cavaliers. And, Dandre Williams is now the percussionist for the group.
There are 14 songs of the new CD. There is the down home ‘let’s go to church’ God Can. Radio Angels should like this particular track. It is sure to have listeners call to say “play that one again.” And, the same can be said about You Can’t Stop Me and Turn It Over.
In addition to the old fashion church songs, there are two bonus Christmas songs on the CD. They are Away In A Manger and Jesus, Wonderful Child.
According to The Shepherds, “We want to present Christ and draw people through his anointing. Our message is music ministry with the word of God blended together to give Him our most excellent praise.”
Well, they have reached their goal with the new release. When you put this CD in your player, get ready for a praise and worship service.
Listen to songs from the CD during Gloryland Gospel Radio’s Quartet Gospel Mix on July 27, 2010.

On July 30, 2006, Rev. R. L. Bush & The New Swan Silvertones recorded a concert at New Birth Christian Center, Savannah, Georgia. As a result of that recording, in 2007 the group released the concert in the form of a CD titled Live & Up Close. The recording contained thirteen songs. The hit song on the CD was “Super Man.”
The recording received some attention from quartet gospel Radio Angels and fans. Gloryland Gospel actually did a review of the project. However, it certainly did not receive the distribution that it deserved.
Now, Low Rush Music has repackaged the 2007 release and re-issued it as Rev. R. L. Bush Live Up and Close Again. The first thing that stands out about the re-release is the art work. The cover appears to have Rev. Bush mediating on the Word he desires to deliver with this recording. The cover alone will get your attention. Can’t you just see your minister in a similar pose before ascending to the pulpit on Sunday morning?
The same thirteen songs that were on the 2007 release are on the 2010 release. With the push from Low Rush, this project should finally get the broad national attention in deserves.
